The "Pocket Six" is the first fountain pen offering from Schon DSGN. A compact cartridge fountain pen designed for everyday use. Like the Classic Schon DSGN pens, these pens are compact when capped but a nice full sized fountain pen experience when the cap is posted on the back of the pen. The name "Pocket Six" comes from the fact that this pocket pen houses a #6 sized nib, which is a full sized nib and not a smaller #5 commonly found in pocket size fountain pens.

Note! These pens are made from copper and will change and patina over time, darkening the metal and aging them. Eventually the patina will stabilize and the color will stay a consistent aged copper look which is quite beautiful. Brass and Copper are my favorite materials due to this patina effect.

Nibs

Each pen comes with a #6 Jowo nib or a Rollerball tip.

You can put a Monoc Nib in this pen! You will need to add a Monoc to your order from here and select "I'm Adding a Monoc" as your choice of nib.

Ink

Pens use standard short international cartridges. Each pen comes with one box of cartridges: three black, one blue, and two empty (for syringe filling) cartridges.

Weight/Size

Each material has a different weight and feel:
Polished Copper Pen -1.70 oz or 48 grams (vs .65 oz or 19 grams for Aluminum)

The pen is ½ an inch (12.7mm) in diameter and 3.55” (90.2mm) long when capped. When the cap is posted on the back it is a full 5.2” (132mm) long.

The Ridged section has a diameter of .390"(9.9mm) VS the .350"(8.9mm) (lowest point) to .390" (highest point) on the curved section

The pens are machined in my Philadelphia workshop and the nibs are from Germany. The Bodies, Cap and Sections are 100% made in the USA.

Violet ★★★★★

The compact size makes it perfect for slipping into a shirt pocket without any awkward bulk, and the faceted copper barrel feels cool and smooth in the hand. It writes reliably from the first stroke, no skipping or fussing needed.

Ryan ★★★★★

The copper section has a nice heft that makes the pen feel substantial despite its compact size, and it writes incredibly smoothly right out of the box. I’ve been using it daily for notes and it’s become my favorite pocket carry.
